Hi all I just wondered if anyone had any experience of worsening of ibs and leg/back pain during midcycle in perimenopause? I've been suffering Peri symptoms for about 3 years I'm 45 I had hormone test to confirm etc. I have wide ranging symptoms such as missed periods, heavier periods, awful anxiety, flushing without sweating, migraine type headaches, joint pain, horrendous acid reflux, night waking etc etc but I've started with a spell of awful bladder and bowel irritation and ibs (which I've had for years) mid cycle and right before period. Painkillers help a little and colofac for ibs but I've also got pain in my back and leg. Everything I google terrifies me so wondered if anyone else has experienced this? Thank you!

Yes I’ve got the same going on with my bowel & bladder , acid feflux, back ache , leg ache , rumbling tum regardless of what I eat ! I eat so healthy excercise, don’t drink or smoke ! was diagnosed with Peri Ibs last year . I also take buscopan & pain meds which help a little. I’ve read up a little & apparently your digestive system can go wack due to hormone imbalance. I’ve been tracking dates for 7 months & there is a pattern . I’m going to see if it carries on for another month or two then I may resort to asking for HRT to help balance the hormones which on turn should balance your digestion . Hope this helps that it’s not just you ! It has me !
