I stopped citalopram recently and suddenly my perimenopause symptoms are worse. 2 heavy successive periods. Sweats and clammy and anxiety is returning. I wanted to stay off citalopram but am having second thoughts?

Has anyone had success with black cohosh? I had some in as tried it before but felt a bit off with it. I didn't know if that was because of citalopram? I took one last night and might carry on.

Any other tips appreciated I feel like I'm going mad Sad

I am watching this with interest.

@Curiousmama

I've used HRT for 11 years.

it's completely different to the Pill

1 it's natural body-identical estrogen ( Pill isn't)
2 it's a much lower dose (than the pill)

I fiddled around with sage and stuff for a few weeks and gave up- didn't see the point when there was something that would work.

I had the same when i came off fluoxetine. I went into hrt and have no more symptoms. I think the fluoxetine was masking them.

Thanks I think I need to go back to the GP and ask about hrt.
