Keeping healthy tips

Having stopped the pill around 3 months ago I still haven't had a period. Whilst I know it may take time to have a period, given my age and peri-menopausal symptoms around 10 years ago it is possible I will never have another.

With the now lack of oestrogen from the pill I was wondering what I need to do to reduce my risk of things like osteoporosis? Was thinking of taking vitamin d tablets and starting some light weight type exercises.

Anyone have any other tips?

You need brisk walking, (over 4mph) , weights which exercise areas of the body that are liable to fracture ( hips, wrists, spin) and at least 1000mcgs (1gm) calcium a day ideally from food. Vit D is needed too- easy to supplement.

The Royal Osteoporosis Society has a great website all on this and books you can buy too.
