No withdrawal bleed for over 2 months

I am 49 and peri menopausal and been on HRT since November. It agrees with me I take 1mg of sandrema oestrogen gel daily and progesterone (utrogeston) from days 15-26. First couple of months I had a withdrawn bleed a couple of days after finishing. Last couple of cycles had no bleed so have been “pretending” it’s a 28 day cycle and calling day 29 the new day 1 so I can start the cycle again. Should I be concerned that i haven’t had a bleed ? I thought it would make it more regular. Has anyone experienced this ? Thanks

There is info about this online- have a google. Always worth checking medical sites/ papers.

Around 20% of women do not always bleed.

Thanks - google hasn’t been great with info and pharmacist was vague just wondered if it meant I was actually heading into menopause

As long as you use sequential HRT you risk having a bleed. 80% of women do. Maybe the estrogen dose is just a bit too low and you're not getting much build up of the lining. Or you are not absorbing much. Sandrena is less than Oestrogel where the daily dose is 1.5mgs but it's possible to increase or decrease this.

Thanks can find very little about it online but everywhere seems to say when you only take progesterone element day 15 - 26 then you should have a bleed and concerned now that I haven't for last 2 months - don't want to waste DRs time but equally getting concerned !

I have no bleed as well and my gyn says that it is ok. I am on 2mg of estrogen and dydrogesterone.

Thanks emerald do you just treat each cycle as an imaginary 28 days and then use day 1 as what would be 29 so you can get into rhythm again ready for day 15 progesterone?

It doesn't have to be bang on 28 days (some of us use Utrogestan far less than once a month.)
You might find it easier to go by days on the calendar. So for example whatever day you took it this month- like the 15 May, start again 15 June etc etc. (This is what my consultant advises for women using it monthly.)

Hi Choccy, I am on Femoston and after taking the tablets that contains estrogen, I start the tablets with dydrogesterone with no break.

Thanks all
Think the idea of a calendar date will work better than my current counting !
