How long were you using estriol before you noticed any difference in your symptoms? I have just been prescribed some and I am interested to know when I should expect to see a change in my current symptoms.

Sorry realised I probably should have said it is estriol cream - 1 dose a day for internal use.

A couple of months but a lot better by 6 months.

You need to keep using it for life.

Thanks Jingling, I have itchiness down below (nothing seen with the naked eye by GP) and bladder issues (UTI test clear x2), mood swings (but more than pmt), shorter and heavier period, feeling tired. I was told that I would enter an early menopause (or most likely to) after some fertility tests seven years ago. Has anyone else experienced any of these issues? I was hoping the estriol would address some of these issues a bit quicker. I am likely to be having blood tests next week to rule other things out but the symptoms seem to fit. No hot flushes yet really - occasionally after caffeine perhaps.

well, it may be quicker but I didn't want to get your hopes up! You could easily feel much better after 2-3 weeks.

If you are possibly in early peri (under 45) vaginal estrogen won't do anything for other symptoms. You'd need full HRT for that and it's the recommended treatment (NICE guidelines for early or premature menopause.)

Very important to use it to prevent heart and bone disease later on.

Thanks Jingling.
