Bleeding at the wrong time? Thanks

I’ve been on hrt for 18 mths now, first femoston & since July, the gel & tablets. I use 4 pumps a day as advised & the tablets day 1-12.

When should I bleed? I’m finding I’m slightly grumpy with PMT symptoms around the end of the month (ie today!) Will start the tablets tomorrow & I think last mth I had a bit of blood by about Day 2-3 & then all over by maybe day 8.

That's a bit weird- the timing of your bleed.
You are on a very high dose of gel.
Normally, you would complete the Utrogestan (is that what you use) and have a bleed 2-3 days after the last one (so around 15th of the month.)

Are you still in peri and is this your own natural cycle that's causing the period? It doesn't make sense otherwise, unless your lining is so thick it's shedding early after 4 weeks regardless of any Utrogestan.

Yes that’s what I’m on.
There are - couple of things - summer 2017 my periods were odd & then everything literally dried up overnight & I had many hot flushes day & night. Nov 17 I was given HRT - femoston. Then changed to this combo about April 2018.

I really don't know the answer to this.
If your periods have stopped, you ought not to be getting any PMT symptoms on gel alone because you aren't having cycles.

Are you- for example- starting the progesterone on the 1st of each month? ie 1 April, 1 May etc? And you bleed by Day 2-3?

Are you taking 200mgs each day?

What happened on Femoston? Did you have a regular withdrawal bleed then?

Why are you on 4 pumps which is 2 x the normal dose?

It may be that you are not using enough Utrogestan to control it.

What does your dr say?

I’m under a Menopause clinic who prescribed this dose for me. When I reduced the dose I became very spotty - acne all over my face.
I’ll be day 1 today on my Utrogestan so will make an exact note of my bleed.
I spoke to the clinic & they are going to request my GP refers me for a hormone level test & also a pelvic scan 😳
