Hi
I am having horrible night sweats, which leave the sheets cold and damp. Then I can't get back to sleep as too cold. Has anyone tried bamboo bed sheets or tried temperature regulating nightwear? or got suggestions for other ways of coping?

I was about to post the same thing....will watch with interest! I’ve been having horrible night sweats for over ten years (almost every night!) they started in my early 30’s so, although not menopause related, bound to be hormonal (isn’t everything?!) Hmm

Horse...we’re on our own kid! 🥺 one of us might have to splash out on the bamboo and let the other one know the result! Smile

Yes there hasn't been the informed response I was hoping for. I've posted the same on Gransnet, so will let you know if anything comes up there.

Great 👍🏼 You would think it would be a hot topic...no pun intended Smile

Also watching with interest but not tried either.

I've used and loved bamboo underwear. Having horrific sweats and can absolutely identify with hot sweats then cold sheets!

justaminutedarling · 25/04/2019 21:30

Bamboo...pants?! Shock

weebarra · 25/04/2019 22:40

And socks!

justaminutedarling · 25/04/2019 22:48

socks I knew about...pants is a revelation! 😂 have now done some Googling and seen some lovely bamboo leggings...who knew?!

Rollerbird · 25/04/2019 22:53

Technical fabric exercise clothing breathable, designed for sweat stuff.
Leggings and top etc

DH wears merino pants. He swears by them but it means all his underwear has to go in a wool wash which is a ball ache.

I came on to ask the same question! Night sweats are horrific. That's a great idea to try sports wear - might give that a go. The only bamboo clothing I've seen is ££££ ☹️

*Yes there hasn't been the informed response I was hoping for^.

Is there any reason why you'd not consider HRT?

Unless you have contraindications, the best 'cure' is HRT. There is no need to put up with these symptoms.

If you are unsure of risks/ benefits, have a read of Menopause Matters website and also that by Dr Louise Newson.

I take hrt and still have night sweats though

We have coolmax bedding, which is superb. Costly and we could only get it in white, but it makes a huge difference.

@RollerBird

Maybe you need a higher dose?
If you are on 1mg estrogen try 2 mg
if you are on a patch try higher dose
if you are on gel, more pumps.

Whole point of HRT is to stop these symptoms so it needs adjusting.
