Strange bleeding

I’m late 40’s and haven’t had a period for 3 months (same thing happened last year - and then all returned back to normal which I think is common for perimenopause.)

Sorry for tmi but last couple of days I’ve had some bleeding but it’s only after a bowel movement.

Has anyone else had similar ?

I think you should get that checked. It's probably nothing to worry about, but better safe than sorry. Is it definitely vaginal bleeding? But whether it's coming from there or the anus, best to run that past your GP.

Hi yes it’s definitely vaginal bleeding

OK, advice still stands. When your GP re-opens on Tuesday make an appointment. That's what I did last year in similar circumstances and I was impressed that the NHS swung into action and I had a gynae appointment within (I think) a couple of weeks and follow up procedure fast tracked too. All turned out to be a false alarm for me - hope the same applies to you too. It usually does.

It could be a polyp on your cervix, for example.
The wall between the rectum and vagina is close together so the pressure of the poo moving along can 'move' anything that is there which could bleed. So get it checked. But it could also just be normal peri bleeding (light) which if you are straining at all when pooing is being forced out. See dr.

Thanks for replies - will see dr just to check everything. Did have a scan and hysteroscopy early last year after a v long and heavy bleed following no periods for three months and all was fine so hopefully nothing developed since then and it’s just more peri oddness.
