I'm 49, no other symptoms, periods still regular but it must be coming and this itching is driving me mad, to the extent it's disturbing my sleep.

Is it menopause related and what can I do?

Hi I'm 49 and still on the pill and for the last two weeks I've came out in a rash. It looks like a heat rash, it's on my neck , torso , back and arms. I was wondering if it's part of the menopause.

I'm a bit late to this thread but just to say that I was driven mad by itching (particularly on back and scalp) for about 14 months starting Christmas 2017 and after trying everything I am 100% certain it is all menopause related. Hope things improve soon.

Only thing that helped was plain emollient creams, especially Balneum, and trying to break the scratch itch cycle.

Anyone tried piriton. Late onset allergies are a real thing. They'll take a bit of time to work

MrsEricBana · 25/04/2019 22:30

I did. No improvement at all as I don't think it was an allergy but I do agree re late onset intolerances allergies e.g. alcohol intolerance, I am def less well able to tolerate gluten now etc

justasking111 · 25/04/2019 22:42

pasta gluten free nowadays, bread bloating. Wine ditto, think it is the yeast aspect of wine production. Asthma, candles, log burners, pollen, latex, headaches, oh the list is sooo boring now.

I’ve had this, i defo think it’s meno
I’ve tried most over the counter stuff, even the new o,keefe itching cream. Nothing worked.

Gp, gave me balneum, NO
She then written to dermatologist, who said
No hot water, warm. Baths and showers.
And to take upto 4 certirizine tablets if needed.

Mine seems to come on gradually, I can feel like my blood is getting hot
Then the itching starts. Usually nighttime 😒
