Hi,

I recently had blood tests as I'm scratching and bruising myself as so itchy. Turns out I'm in early menopause. I'm 45. Would HRT stop the itching or can anyone recommend anything please?

I'm sat here scratching my legs as we speak. When I was on HRT don't remember it being any better tbh. Tis grim.

Itching which feels like ants crawling all over is called formication- google it.
If that is what you have, HRT would help, yes.

God I’ve had this for few years now, so I feel for you.
Exactly the same, too much itching and I’d be bruised.

Don’t bother buying any over the counter products, I’ve bought nearly everything from cheap to expensive. Nothing works.

Recently gp wrote to dermatologist who recommended I went for chest X-ray?? Couple more blood test. All clear. Prescription for menthol aqueous cream and upto 4 antihistamine (certrizine)

Antihistamines win
