Hey everyone,
I am 36 and over the last year or two I have been on the pill on and off on Yasmin. Anyway I decided I did not want to be on the pill anymore and my periods were every 28 days for the first 3/4 months. My periods for the last 3 months are now 30-31 days apart....am I in perimenopause? I have no other odd symptoms period wise but my sex drive is in the bin. I have a 5 year old son. I did want to consider another but couldn't afford to get pregnant till next year.

I don't think you should assume peri meno.

Cycles can be normal if anything from 21- 35 days. I had longer cycles in my teens and early 20s, then they slowly got shorter in my 50s right down to one 17 day cycle.

It is perfectly normal for cycle length to change now and then and doesn't mean anything.

Obviously if you start to miss periods and go longer than 35 days, see your GP but they like you to keep a record for 6 months to see a pattern.

Age of menopause is often hereditary though 2 friends of mine didn't follow their mums.

You need to wait and see but having a slightly longer cycle is not a sign of it coming yet- your cycles are still well within normal.
