Well thanks to reading lots of info on here and across the net I think I'm in Peri- menopause.
I've made an appointment with my GP today- only female doc on is a Locum so I'm not sure what to expect. I want them to help me with my symptoms but not sure HRT is the answer. I'm 43, have rosacea so am prone to flushes but these have increased recently to having flushes especially when drinking coffee or when someone asks me a question in a meeting, I flush and feel they must think I'm nervous- which I can be a bit, but not so much to go bright red and blotchy across my face & neck. My other symptoms are going off sex, genuinely not bothered if I never have sex again, last few times I have it was uncomfortable. Achey bones/ joints sometimes and my worst symptom is urinary urgency which is awful, literally one one minute and then GO GO GO and I end up with damp knickers 😔
I'm feeling teary writing it down, feeling sorry for myself. Any advice great fully received

I think you need to ask for vaginal estrogen at the very least- that will help the weeing all the time with urgency which is a classic sign of lower estrogen levels affecting the bladder etc.

The other thing is you are pretty young for peri and all of this so ask for blood tests but they have to be done at the right time- days 2-5 of your cycle, over 2 months.

Thank you, I'll mention that & see what she says. I'm expecting they'll want me to have bloods first before starting any treatment but I don't know. Just feeling down about the whole thing.

you shouldn't need blood tests for what is screaming 'vaginal atrophy',- that's the painful sex and urgency weeing.

You should have blood tests for peri as you are under 45. But many drs will just treat on symptoms.

Lovely young doc admitted she was out of her comfort zone, she went through everything, checked my BP and said she would speak to one of the senior docs and phone me back- which she did but it was just to say she spoke to him & he recommended she speak to one of the female senior docs who wasn't in today! but said she will and phone me again tomorrow. Glad I've been, she's given me some leaflets which I'm reading now & wow! Who knew it was so complex? I'll keep this thread updated with what they recommend tomorrow Smile
