Smears

Due for a smear but since my last one things have changed a bit down there as in dryness so not looking forward to my next one. Any tips ? I'm coming back as a bloke Smile

If you have dryness, it needs sorting first- why put up with it- not just in relation to smears? Have you seen your GP about this? Do!!

There is also the risk that if you are very dry, the smear will not be successful- they won't get enough cells. This happened to me once even though I was using vaginal estrogen and full HRT.
The smear itself was fine when taken but the result came back as 'not enough cells'.

I had to wait another 3 months and my gynaecologist who did the smear told me to use vaginal estrogen for 10 days before the smear- then 4 days off it.
