Breasts going rogue and bloody painful

Anyone else had quite a change in the behaviour of their breast(s) in peri-menopause / menopause, with or without HRT (I'm on the patches)??

About 2 years ago RB (right breast) went rogue. Lots of activity inside it, and swollen up to a good 10-15% bigger than the right one and as shittingly painful as you can imagine. I believe in being proactive about these matters so got a referral to the breast clinic. Both the GP and the breast consultant were 'oh well there's no lump' and I'm like, er, have you heard of Inflammatory Breast Cancer?! Nobody knows what that looks like until it gets to stage 3 (it's an awful form of cancer) so what if it was that and I just ignored it? And whilst breasts can be different sizes and swell up/go back down with periods etc, it's not normal for one breast to do it on its own. Anyway, no issues they saw so cleared from that incident.

Skip forward to a couple of months ago and now LB (left breast) has gone off on one. Again, it's gotten much larger and it is SO painful. It's got the same amount of swelling you'd have if you were breastfeeding 2 hourly. Honestly, it's SO painful, if someone just knocked me on the knocker I think I'd pass out.

I can't understand the one-sided symptoms or why they're SO swollen or why they are so god-damned painful. I stupidly attempted to cross the road at a bit of a jog today - big, big mistake.

I was at the Drs today to get a further prescription for the HRT patches (which frankly, I wouldn't be without) but has anyone found that they caused reactions like this? I still have the odd period the lead-up to which can involve weeks of pre-period bloating and sometimes there's a period at the end of it, sometimes there's not, and during that time either both boobs do the normal pre-period tenderness, or just one goes super rogue. I'm in the long-winded pre-period phase at the moment. Dr wasn't bothered about my reporting one breast significantly larger than the other Hmm and only mentioned I might need to switch to HRT pills instead of patches...

Experiences, thoughts, comments? Anyone else having the same thing?

Sorry for the massive tome!

Mine are terrible for about 10 days prior to when my period might or might not be. They go up about 4 cup sizes, one more than the other, and are agony. I can't sleep without a sports bra on. It's like stupid bf norks again. Plus shooting pains.

Oh yes, the shooting pains, twinges and throbbing. It's absolute crap isn't it. I can't believe how big one gets over the other one!

Mine are bigger and firmer than before hrt and some days more painful but I don’t think that it is something to worry about. I hope...:)

No, I guess, typically, pain isn't a sign of something serious. It's so painful though, my God.
