Could do with some wise words

I've been using the patches (cut in half ) as advised by the doctor. First month back in October went well, normal bleed happened around the end of week 4. Since then nothing.. but slowly putting on weight! I decided to stop and never put on another patch since Thursday.. just to see how I'd be🤔 and now I have woken in the night with the mother of all bleeds. Obviously I'll be onto the doctor first thing but I have to say it's panicked me a little - google doesn't help!

Which patch, how far into peri or post meno are you, at what point did you remove your patch in the cycle?
You are obviously going to lose the womb lining at some point if it was sequential HRT and the right way would have been to finish the cycle when you'd normally have a bleed. if you just stopped then it's the bleed coming anyway or it's your own period.
