I was on Femseven sequi for three years and to my utter dismay I have been told it's no longer being manufactured !! So started on everol conti ...had a massive headache the first day So was told to take it off !
I'd recently decided to stay on the patches for a bit longer as was told risks were the same up to five years and don't want to go back on the tablets.

Has anyone here tried the mirena coil plus oestrogen cream ? This has been suggested as an alternative.

Also just to ask..has anyone had headaches/ migraine on hrt ? Is that normal ? The pharmacist I spoke to did wonder if it was a coincidence. I have got the patches with me in my drawer and I'm really desperate not to stop anything at the moment! I'm assuming Conti is the right thing for me because I have not really had a period for 3 years .

I have headaches on hrt but I had them before during my peri. It is due to hormonal fluctuations and it is not a contradiction I think.

Just for the record, it's oestrogen GEL. The cream is vaginal cream.

You can choose whether you want conti or sequential- most drs push conti as it's no-bleed but some women find the daily progestogens too much (and give side effects.) I have no intention to use conti and have used sequi for 11 years. (And am in my 60s.)

Thanks . Am actually feeling really shaky emotional and just awful - )guess side effects from a few days without ). Symptoms have come back a little bit a couple of days off it - night sweats and feeling anxious !!

Annoyed have to go through this. Waiting for practice nurse to call back

I had headaches and migraine on the patches. After some research I've now asked for estrogel and utrogestan ... daily progesterone capsules, licensed for oral use in the UK but in other countries licensed for vaginal use, I do that and have no side effects apart from a slight headache the first day. The gps don't seem to suggest it but they will prescribe it if you ask.

Thanks BatsyPatsy that's really useful - I didn't know about that and I'm not that keen to have a Mirena Coil
