Body hair after menopause

A conversation with a menopausal friend suggests that it is not 'normal' to lose your body hair after menopause.

I am nearly five years past menopause, no HRT, no other issues except for VA controlled by Vagifem, but I have lost most of my body hair and no longer need to shave my legs or underarms.

Is this unusual and should I be looking for another cause?

As a student nurse working on elderly health care wards, I noticed lack of leg and underarm hair and often pubic hair in lots of patients. They were well over menopause age though, not 5 years.
I realise it’s only a partial answer but I hope it’s part of the picture.

I think it's normal but not average.
It's like some men go bald on their heads and others don;t. Obviously it's hormonal. I expect there is a wide variation.

I'm 3 years post menopause, no HRT etc, and I have noticed the same! Rarely need to shave my legs and armpits these days! 😀

Same here. It doesn't worry me.

It is quite normal, but usually later than 5 years i think
