Tibolone during peri?

Has anyone else been prescribed tibolone /Livial for peri menopause symptoms? I’ve been prescribed it for night sweats & bad PMT/sore breasts but looking at NHS website it seems this is meant to be used for post menopausal women.
I don’t know whether to trust my GP & start it anyway or male another appointment

It's for women post menopause and it's not a regular type of HRT- it's a steroid with estrogen properties.

Usually it's for women who can't use 'regular' HRT for a reason.

It was the first hrt I tried 2 years ago at 41 and it did not suit me at all. It made me bleeding and had an impact at my vision. It is used for post menopausal ladies and it is considered more breast friendly.

Thanks for your replies. I wonder why I’ve been given this. No reason not to be on normal HRT (I tried one a few years ago although it made no difference so I gave up. Symptoms are worse now so I want to get this sorted).
WWYD in my situation? Try it? Or go back?

Go back.

IME of reading forums, it's sometimes prescribed by drs who 'don't like REAL HRT' and they offer it as a kind of substitute.

maybe see a different GP?

Thanks jingling. I think I’ll do that as I don’t want to take meds that probably won’t help and yet could still have side effects.
