Just wondering what your experiences are.

Yes and I bloody love mine. I started it to reduce my periods as they were very heavy. I'm on my second one now and have had it fitted although I'm peri. I have oestrogen patches and the combination works well for me.

Very interested in this. Doctor offered mirena excessive perimenopausa lá bleeding but I am concerned about hormone imbalance. Had severe anemia due to heavy and long periods but not other symptoms.

Claire 1967, do you have a metal coil or a mirena?

JiltedJohnsJulie · 03/03/2019 20:56

Nearly. I had a Mirena before I was Peri and it's been the best thing I could have done for it. It was uncomfortable at first and I had spotting for about 6 weeks but that was a very small price to pay Smile

Yes. Went on Mirena for excessive bleeding aged 46 then added evorel patches two years later when meno kicked in. Only symptoms were a bit of hot flushing (not too bad) and terrible sleep. The sleep improved a bit and certainly no flushes now. It’s been ok. I do now have headaches and some gum problems which I never ever had before and I’m not sure if this is why. I may be putting 2 and 2 together to make 5.
