I’m 49 and not had a period for almost 10 months! In the last week my boobs (both) are very sore and heavier/bigger than normal!!

I’m worried it’s not menopause but something sinister!! Anyone had this?
Thanks

Errrr...sounds like PMS and if your next period is on its way! You can expect another period anywhere up to 12 months after the last one, then they are usually over if you go a year without.

Yes but I’ve Never had PMS like this! I used to get sensitive boobs mid cycle and then hardly anything for PMS ..... I guess I should wait and see what the next few days bring.....very strange though!

Any chance you are pregnant and not menopausal. Something similar happened to a friend at 46 and turned out she was pregnant not in menopause.

Definitely impossible!

You can get incomplete cycles with perimenopause where you get phantom periods with the PMS signs but no bleeding.

It won't be anything sinister if it's both breasts- it's hormonal.

Hey I totally had the same thing. I turned 50 last week and last October was (so far?!?) my last period. I had really aching boobs, heavy boobs and they were fuller and bigger. If your periods are becoming irregular and you have no reason to believe you are pregnant you may then be perimenopausal going into menopause. Good luck sweetie x
