Hi, totally new to this so interested to hear your thoughts xx
Having read many threads I wanted to ask if anyone has symptoms that don’t follow suit? I am 50 this year and have experienced over the last 3 years; missed periods every now and then, periods closer together or longer than normal, hot flushes for a month or so, mood swings (but that’s nothing new always had them each month) higher anxiety, but I seem to have an increased sex drive, actually more than my husband which doesn’t help my mood swings. It’s actually making me miserable as I feel unattractive and unwanted as we are not in the same place. Would really like to know if anyone is experiencing similar, as I’ve not read anything and am concerned it’s just me. Thank you x

Yes, I had this (and all your other symptoms) - it's mad isn't it? Researched it and discovered it's pretty common in perimenopause - biology is trying to squeeze one last baby out of us! Sorry to hear about your husband's lack of interest. Can you work on improving intimacy with him - a weekend away, taking up a new hobby together, counselling or whatever? Meanwhile, maybe treat yourself to some nice toys. It doesn't last forever, so enjoy if you can... When my periods finally stopped, I suddenly lost the ability to orgasm. That sucked, but tbh it was the least of my worries at the time! Then I started on HRT for all the other lovely stuff (insomnia, anxiety etc) and now the sensation and orgasms are back. I would say I still have a pretty strong libido but not to the crazy, gotta-have-it perimenopausal extent, luckily...
