Is this peri menopause symptom, or do I need therapy?

I mostly feel like I can't cope with everyday life. Live in London, and just cannot deal with commute, small flat, noise, dirt or anything really without feeling really stressed. Is it just a permenopause thing? Am on Ecorel conti patches, and normally the early patches make me feel calm, but I still (3 patches in) feel like a basket case. I have a very unstressful job, but still can't cope with actually getting there or getting home. I have just blown up at my DH and DD with such fury that it has scared me a bit. What should I do?

Can you check your HRT? If you are in peri, continuous HRT is not the right type.

I've posted about this maybe 3 x in the past week for women who have been given the wrong HRT!

Evorel conti is for (from info leaflet)

is suitable for women who have not had a period (menstrual bleed) for at least 18 months

If this is not you, go back to your dr - or preferably find another one who knows what they are doing.

The anxiety you are suffering may well be caused by using 2 hormones daily (that's conti) rather than being on a sequi regime (which follows a natural cycle, with progestogens only 12 days per month.)

I hope you get this sorted.

I am on the Sequi drugs, so use 2 different types of patches per month. Normally I feel fine for the first half of the month, but not this month. Feel terrible Sad

How long have you used them altogether?
It might be just a blip. You could try delaying the progestogen patch by a week to get 3 weeks of estrogen only to see if you feel any better.

I've read everywhere that you should only go on conti when you've had no bleeding at all, not even some very light spotting for a day for 12 months.

What I haven't been able to find is the reason why.

OP says she is not on conti now- seems to have made an error- says she is on sequi.

The reason for using conti post menopause is....

if you use it when you are in peri, you will have your own estrogen circulating as well as the estrogen in the HRT. This means you will sometimes get erratic bleeding - your own periods breaking through- because the estrogen: progestogen ratio in conti is balanced to give 'no bleed'.

Adding in extra estrogen ( your own) means there is not enough progestogen in the pill/ patch to control growth of the womb lining so it will shed, at random.

Yes, i find the whole Evorel thing very confusing, there seems to be Conti, Sequi and 50 and I get them confused all the time. I use the one with two different types of patches, and have a regular bleed.
I think I might need to see the docs for some anti-depressants :(
