Do periods get more frequent towards the end?

I'm 48, so no real symptoms as such except that having been regular as clockwork, 28 days, and since dc, 15 years ago, my last 3 periods have been only 21 days apart.

Normal? Cause for concern?

It's no fun, it feels like I almost permenantly have pms or bleeding and period pain

Yes it is very common during peri. After that they become less frequent.

Or less frequent, mine are now on 6 week cycles

Yes, mine got more frequent for a few months, then less frequent for a bit, then even more frequent again until they finally stopped altogether the year before last.

My periods went to 3 weekly in my 40's then they stopped
