I have a mirena coil (3rd one) so don't always get period - I tend to go a long time without any and then have a few cycles where I will get some for a while. Previously my cycle was ALWAYS 28 days both when I was not using the Mirena and when I had the Mirena in but was having periods. The last 6 months I have started to have periods again but the cycle is now 42 days. Could this be related to perimenopause? I am 47 years old.
