I have been on femoston conti 1/5 for 3 years and been getting breakthrough bleeding, gp has changed me onto femoston 1/10 been taking this for a week now, last 2 nights been waking up every hour, not hot just disturbed sleep. Just like I was before taking any HRT. Is this because I'm only taking the oestrogen part of the tablet? Help I don't do well with disturbed sleep, I even feel myself getting tetchy and I shouted at the dog today. Which is not me at all.

Vickster- when you started Femoston conti, were you post menopause ( no period for 12 months?) If not you should have used sequi till your own periods stopped or you were over 54.

The medical guidance is that any odd bleeding on conti, after the first 6 months, should be investigated (scans and possibly more.)

Your dr ought not to change you to sequential without referring you for some investigation unless of course you ought to have been on sequi all along.

see here (written by a dr.)

It's possible the lack of progestogen is affecting your sleep but you may find it settles down.

But in any case you need to go back.
