Early stages of perimenopause perhaps?

My periods have been quite light through the years whilst using all sorts of contaceptives inbetween having children. Since my coil these feel much lighter and only last 1.5 to 2 days maximum where as before they could last up to 5 days.
So I'm 40 and thought a third baby would happen, 7 months we have been trying and nothing. I don't want medical intervention to help me fall but am wondering if I'm going through the perimenopause.
It's weird things like having to wear deodorant this year, my periods getting lighter and not making their mind up most months to wether I'm on a 24 or 30 day cycle. This month my period has been really weird, very pale red, very watery. I'm sure it looked orangry in the night!? It only started yesterday afternoon and It feels like it has already finished. My mum was 46 when she started the menopause, she had breast cancer this time last year and the doctors said the hrt could of caused it due to being on it for so long (she's now 71)

I've read that the perimenopause can take up to 10 years to complete, the doctors did say they could do a blood test but I don't feel that would change anything.
I guess I don't feel ready for this stage in my life yet and thanks for reading.

Best thing is to see your GP and have blood tests.
peri can last 10 years but you are already showing some of the most obvious signs like irregular periods and if your mum's periods stopped by 46, that's early. Women tend to follow their mum's pattern.

Thank you for your reply. Think I will give it a couple more cycles and ask for a blood test. How annoying, didn't expect it just yet!

Early menopause was a shock for me too and I had absolutely no idea about. I started to have symptoms with almost regular but very light periods. I was too afraid to ask for hrt because of breast cancer risks but I don’t have any other choice I guess. It is my main concer and I worry too much about.

I don't know what else is out there apart from the HRT.
This month it lasted a day... think this year is the start of it Confused
