Am 51, periods have been hit and miss for18 months. So havent had one for 11 months then bam 23rd Dec full blown heavy period for 4 days, not pain just a proper period. Is this normal and have I got to start counting all over again to get to 12 months without one before I can say Ive gone through the menopause?

Yes. Happened to me

Happened to me too. Infuriating! I went 11 months then had two of the most normal periods i’d had for years, neatly 28 days apart. I had no tampons in the house and had to dash out and buy supplies. They have gone again now (it’s been about 8 months I think) and I have two boxes of tampons in my bathroom cupboard.

Ah ok. How old is everyone? Im 51, 52 next month. Never had any problems, until 18months ago I had a real shock and they stopped. I put it down to shock but them started to have night sweats ehich woke me in the night now these have stopped snd low and behold I get a period. Will see what Jan brings!!!
