Acid Reflux - is this a menopause symptoms?

Never had this but in the last year I have and it is getting worse.

If I had tomatoes I would get it, but that was understandable as it was one of the common triggers. But last night I had fish fingers and chips for dinner (I know!) and later two glasses of wine. I had massive reflux at 8am this morning, it woke me up and have suffered all day from a burning feeling in throat etc. I am getting this more and more.

I am not overweight - I know that this can sometimes bring on AR due to pressure somewhere or other.

Is this something you have noticed as a symptom?

Any remedies other than Gaviscon or Nexium - natural remedies?

I have it like that. I keep bisodol by my bed. Drink lots of water and avoid wine as much as possible.

I agree about avoiding wine. Sleep with your upper back as well as head propped up on pillows.
Ranitidine is good. Peppermint tea (ideally made from fresh leaves not dried leaf tea-bags) is also good if you want a natural remedy.

Are you using Vagifem pessaries by any chance? I had those symptoms when using those, stopped when I discontinued them. (Used Sylk instead)

What were the chips cooked in? Rapeseed oil gives me acid reflux. Doubt that is down to the menopause but as I have got older, my ability to drink alcohol, even wine, has disappeared.

I think it is the wine. I will give it up for a few weeks and see if it makes a difference, try again in a few weeks and if it starts again I might have to give up wine. That will be a sad day....
