My dr prescribed Utrogestan 100mg capsules alongside oesttrogel, on the packet of Utrogestan it says take 1 daily so I have been doing that but as I read different posts I’ve seen ladies say that you only take them for part of the month , please can someone explain what I’m meant to take and what days to start it please .

Your dr is being negligent if they have not told you how to take them. You need to go back to them and ask for the full information.

There are various regimes depending on where you are in peri or post menopause.

Daily is for women who are not having periods, 12 days a month is for women in peri.

Go back and ask- your dr at the very least needs to know it's not good enough just to dispense a prescription with no instructions!!!

Every day is for women that do not want a monthly withdrawal bleed. You are on the same regime as me

Hi, I take 2 tablets of Utrogeston days 15-26 of my cycle and 2 pumps of Estrogel a day. I am peri-menopausal. It will vary depending on which stage you are at.

Are you peri-menopausal or have your periods stopped?

You are on a continuous type of hrt.
You can use a cyclical or continuous type and it depends on your symptoms and if you want a bleed every month.
If you feel good you can stay on it I guess.

silken I've just been prescribed those hrt meds. Any tips? How do you find it?

Mongyxxx · 14/01/2019 14:54

Silken I've only been on it a few weeks but am starting to feel a bit clearer in thinking and concentrating , still get a few flushes but it's early days , I'm post menopausal and take the capsules daily with no break 😊
