Hi all,
I am a final year student at the University of Kent and for my dissertation I am examining associated factors and differentiating lifestyles that may influence the timing of menopause.

My plan was to contact a few menopausal support groups on Facebook and different online forums in order to gain as many responses as possible to my online survey through Google Forms.

It is completely anonymous and will take approximately 5 minutes. It would be a massive help if some of you could participate!. So far I’ve only been able to distribute it amongst my mum’s friends and I need a lot more.

The survey is completely anonymous and does not require a log in or enter any names. It has been approved following the ethics framework established by the University of Kent.

Please help me - my degree depends on it Xmas Smile

Happy new year!

Done. Found the part about contraception a bit tricky to fill in as have used several methods over the years.

Interesting choice of topic for your course. My understanding is that lifestyle has no bearing at all on timing of menopause because that is determined by the number of eggs a woman has. Lifestyle may affect the symptoms of peri menopause, and recently there was some research which showed that women who ate a lot of oily fish may delay menopause by a year or two.

Done! Hope it helps!:)

Done!

You seem to have doubled up with the age of menopause in Qs 6 and 7. People have pointed out they can't say that chemo stopped their periods but there is the option of 'other' in the 'surgery' Q option.

Maybe you can make this two Qs?

Done, best of luck to you.

Done

Done. No option if you don't have children (doesn't say it's only for mothers), then the contraception question is odd. Not many people use the same contraception all their life, so I put four things then it asked how long I'd been using it. Well, all for different times, obviously.

And income: under £15k, then three bands, then over £45k, then 'other', nothing can fall outside those bands so other is not needed.

Completed , but I have never been pregnant so had to fudge answers in that respect

WelshPooch · 08/01/2019 23:45

All done - good luck

Giraffey1 · 08/01/2019 23:49

Couldn’t complete the survey as there were too many questions to which I had no answer (couldn’t recall for example, age of first period) but there were no options for ‘can’t remember ‘.

BackforGood · 09/01/2019 00:08

Done, though I agree I had to guess some of the answers.

You ask age of respondent's mother at menopause, but you don't ask whether this was natural or surgical.

That's quite important information you're missing out on, nth, if you're planning to suggest correlations of any kind.

Agree that the contraception Q needs finessing. Women go on and off different kinds of contraception over the course of decades. It's complicated.
