Hi ladies,

My mum has said to me for years that the day she hit 40, her periods started going haywire. So I think I've been expecting this - turned 40 in September - but I want to check with you that this does sound like the early stages:

  • breakthrough 'bleeding' but its like brown not fresh red blood - every two weeks - never had before
  • aches and pains!! To be more specific a whole muscle in my arm can ache, or just really specific needle like pain anywhere in body.
  • sweats - for sure - usually in the evening

Hi! It sounds like peri to me but for sure check your hormones. I started to have symptoms when I hit 40 with almost regular but very light periods. The age of menopause is heridary sometimes.
