I'm 47 today and we given Elleste (?) about 3 months ago as I was experiencing all the symptoms of peri and my GP told me to give it a go. I didn't start taking it as my mood picked up which I put down to me being happier in a new job. However I was due my period yesterday and the last 2 weeks I have been lower than ever. My 6 year relationship has gone down the drain because of my selfish behaviour, I feel drastically low to the point of horrible thoughts of harming myself, I can't sleep, I'm anxious about my job. I feel awful.

Should I just bite the bullet and start it? I'm nervous but I really am at my wits end. I've tried every natural supplement going and nothing has touched the sides...

Happy Birthday! Cake
Why are you nervous of taking it? Can you say?

You've nothing to lose and can stop if it doesn't suit you.

Thank you Queen! I just worry that I'll take the first tablet and it'll make me feel odd or space me out or something? but I suppose it can't make me feel any worse than I do...

It won't make you feel odd at all. The effect builds up slowly. Go on take it!

Think of it this way- you'd not think twice about taking paracetamol or aspirin or loads of other drugs, and estrogen in HRT is the same as you have in your body now.

You might feel a bit down in the 2nd half of the month with the progestogen tablets, but not everyone does and if you do, there are different types of HRT.

Sounds like you have a few things going on. No harm in taking the meds as prescribed while focusing on your personal issues.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I'm going to start it on day 1 of my period.

When it eventually turns up 😀🙄
