Been taking Elleste Duet 2 mg for 6 months, and menopause symptoms are well- managed on this, with a regular, predictable bleed.
My GP prescribed this, as I was still having regular periods, aged 54, and she said that a no-bleed HRT could be overridden by my natural cycle, and I could have irregular bleeding, which I didn't want.
Now a new GP has prescribed 6 further months of this, but said that after that, he would change me to a no-bleed form.
I am not sure about this, as how do I know that I wouldn't still be having natural, regular periods, had I not been taking the Elleste?
I will be 55 by then.
Should I be asking the GP to keep me on my current treatment for longer?
Also, I am going on holiday around the time that the Elleste would be finishing, and I really wouldn't want a bleed then.
So, I am thinking that if I was to start a new treatment, I could start it sooner, or I could continue as before, with extra norethisterone if needed for period delay.
Would appreciate any advice, and sorry it's a bit long-winded!
