Double charges for patches ..!

Ok.. so it's taken me over a week to go and get the dam things! The pharmacist tells me it's a double charge prescription for the patches (which incidentally come in one box) so £8.80 x 2. Really.. I've worked all my adult life, paid tax on sanitary products and now I'm being turned over for menopause patches. You've got to be kidding me 💁‍♀️

I had to pay double on h.r.t. tablets because they contained two types of drug, its unfair and now i am over 60 and get free prescriptions I don't need them anymore.

IHeartMarmiteToast · 17/11/2018 18:00

If you get this prescription monthly it woykd be worth getting a prepaid prescription. At about £10 a month it's a-real money saver if you regularly have more than 1

whynot93 · 17/11/2018 18:01

I have two types of patches in one sealed box. I'm actually quite p'd off.. it's not bad enough I'm a hot mess and going slightly insane I'm not paying double to try and solve it. So unfair.

Buy a pre paid annual prescription voucher for whatever it is and it will work out at £8 ish a month.

I'm over 60 but my prescription is private and works out around £10 a month.

thenightsky · 17/11/2018 19:01

Buy the prepaid card. Its saves loads. I get charged double for mine too because there are two types of tablets on one bubble card (17 orange ones and 11 white ones).

whynot93 · 17/11/2018 19:11

I will do that, just looked online as Ive never even heard of it! Calmed down now.. 😆

Um... I got a box of 8 patches of 4 x oestrogen only and 4x oestrogen with progesterone. I only paid for I prescription. I double checked with the pharmacist who looked at me like I was mad.

Not sure why you guys had to pay for 2.

whynot93 · 26/11/2018 21:17

Oh really! I shall mention that to the go and pharmacy next time I go in.
