Not sure if anyone has attended a Menopause Cafe (www.menopausecafe.net/) - these are group directed discussion of menopause with no agenda, objectives or themes.

The organisers are planning a Menopause Festival in Scotland next April - if you vote on the Aviva community fund website, this will help raise funds:

On the one hand I think it's great women talk about the menopause, but on the other I think there is a risk of focusing on it too much and being 'defined' by a stage of life. IMO and it may not be popular here, if more than only 10% of women used HRT, which suited them (if they can, medically) it could really help them cope better. I think there needs to be more education on the benefits of HRT and understanding how the risks are not what we were led to believe 22 years ago with a flawed report.

I agree - although the Cafe is also be used for women to learn about the benefits of HRT from women who take it.
