Perimenopause ovulation

Hi
GP told me I'm in peri, based on symptoms only.

Is it normal for ovulation to become really painful for a day or so, and to also get light brownish jelly discharge?
I get this most months.
Anyone have similar?
Thanks xx

Meant to add, I'm 44.
Up to date with smears.

Yeah I had the same symptom at 41 and started hrt almost immediately. I think that it is common during peri.

Emerald
Thank you! That's helped put my mind at rest. Did it carry on once you were on hrt?
Going to ask gp about hrt.

Yeah, I tried 3 different types until I found the most suitable for me.

Emerald13 · 07/10/2018 17:13

The pain during ovaluation exists but it is milder on hrt.

If you don't mind me asking, did you get the browny jelly discharge with ovulation too? The pain I can live with but the discharge freaks me out!

Yeah, I got it but my concern and biggest fear was about the pain and my future health in general.

I'm getting the same and I'm 40. Irregular painful periods, spotting from ovulation to period and heavy, painful periods.

GP thinks I'm too young to be peri but my DM was on hrt from 43.

Dumbledora · 07/10/2018 18:31

Thanks for the replies. My DM went through meno at 49 so think mine might be similar - she unfortunately had breast cancer when she was 45,she made a full recovery thankfully.
Been reading about Lady care magnets, does anyone have any experience with these? I might try this first before going down the hrt route.

Unsure
Mine started when I was about 40 too. Periods became regular as clockwork which was unusual as I have pcos so mine were always all over the place. Then started getting closer together, I'm every 28 days now. Along with all the other lovely symptoms of peri!!
