I’m 46, and think I’m peri - menopausal. The main change has been that I’m having a lot of pain at ovulation (I use a period tracking app and it’s spot on) and my periods are much heavier than they’ve ever been. Day one is light, but for 36-38 hours through day 2-3 I’m soaking through a super tampon every couple of hours, day and night! It’s very difficult to manage.

My questions are: those of you with heavy periods, what do you use at night? I’m fed up getting up twice a night to change towels or whatever.

And should I go to the dr about this? No idea if I’m lacking iron or anything - I’m always a bit tired anyway.

I'm 45 and have been going through this for a few years. The best thing I've done was buy a mooncup. They can handle the heavier flow and night time needs during this process. Add to that I can pop it in if I'm not sure if I may start, very irregular now, and I don't need to think about it all day.
