Hi I’ve been trying different HRT pills and patches ...the patches sadly I’m allergic too so now I’m trying oestrogel 2 pumps daily and a natural progesterone Utrogestan 10 mg one a day ...I’ve been period free for over a year and have tried femoston condi which was ‘ok’ not brilliant ....so th GP Prescribed the above ..what I don’t understand I’ve been prescribed to take 1 daily on days 1- 25 of cycle ..but I don’t have a cycle? Just wondered if anyone else has the same?...

I think you will find it's 100mgs (not 10mgs) in one capsule.

The daily dose of 100mgs is for women who are post meno- like you.

The regime of using for 25 days is so if there is any build up of the lining it will come away with the 3-day break ( 3 days out of 28.)

You could take it every day- won't harm you.

You can start any day as you don't have a cycle. Might be a good idea to start on the 1st of each month (like today!) or another day nr the beginning of each month.

Take it at bedtime as it can make you sleepy or slightly dizzy.

Many thanks queen of the nights that’s so helpful -Yes 100 mg not 10 mg! Are you also on the oestrogel pump pack 2 pumps daily - I’ve been using it on my upper arms but I’ve suddenly become slightly itchy ...I’ll try moving to the thighs maybe one pump morning and one pump evening...yes I also read take the progesterone at night - I felt much happier on a plant based progesterone as more identical to human progesterone.... I know others get on very well with the synthetic version ...I just felt I want quite muself even though the horrendous hot flushes had gone (joy) and the fem seven patches were great but left big itchy pink spots - allergic to the adhesive 😌

Yes I use gel too.I've not had any irritation but I do use only 1 pump morning and 1 pump bedtime, so that's not a lot on each arm.

Bronwen i had that reaction to the Femseven patches and now use the gel. I would say do one pump spread between both arms and inner thighs and then the 2nd pump in the eve. You need to let it dry. I have had no irritation with it and i am pretty sensitive to creams etc.

Thankyou kalifornia for your reply good point to spread one pump arms and thighs

It was so bloody annoying about the patches as i felt very good on them...

Just been put on the pump and mini pill. Tried the mirena coil but didn't agree with me as made symptoms twice as bad and some new ones! Am peri-menopausal aged 48 and also trying Keto diet but do love a glass of wine Wine

KaliforniaDreamz · 10/10/2018 13:02

miss if that doesn't suit ask for utrogestan as that is the usual regime with the gel

Will do and thanks, silly how menopause is still spoken in hushed tones.
