I'm officially menopausal and my hair is falling out at an alarming rate, similar to post pregnancy. Does anyone have any advice, or do I just have to accept that my hair will become thinner?

Last october i started losing my hair at such a rate i got very anxious, i had been on hrt for about 6 months, taking whilst in peri, i went to see the gp and got ferritin levels checked, the results were alarmingly low so i started a course of iron and still taking them for maintenance , my hair started regrowing after 2 months of taking Ferrous Fumarate 210mg, today my hair is so thick and strong, grows very quickly, i am convinced it was because of anaemia, one of the main symptoms of aneamia is hair loss, you could get it checked along with the Vitamin B complex.

@disco that’s interesting thank you

I’m having a fasting blood test tomorrow morning so hoping that something like that comes up and my hair grows back. It’s actually receding Shock as well as greasy and thinning (sob)

@Discoisabelle I did wonder about iron deficiency. Thank you, something to look into.

@Discoisabelle I’ve come back to give you an update. I’ve been on HRT since early Oct and I definitely have regrowth of my hair. It’s growing back the same way it did after my baby was born. I have about an inch.
Hope this helps.
