I've been on unopposed oestrogen gel for five weeks (it gave me the sex drive of a 22 year old male, if you're interested, after having the sex drive of a chair for two years). I love it. The difference to my energy levels is phenomenal and I can't believe I've been swimming through swamp for so long. However, I'm swapping now to Everoel Conti (50mg of estrodial per 24 hours) as of today. I have three questions:
- I note that this is less than the dose in the oestrogen gel. Are there different strengths of the patch? Also where should I put it.
- I decided to swap to the patch - rather than gel and the testesterone - as I felt uncomfortable being so slathered in gel with a pubescent childin the house. I was talking about this to the mother of my kids half sister, who also uses the gel and she said not to worry - but she also noted that her daughter (who is the same age as mine) had started her period over the summer, which seems quite early to me! Online research suggests that there is a transfer woman to man during sex even hours post application. My daughter clambers on me and sits on my lap and I'm lazy and sloppy and sometimes the gel gets a bit on my clothes and it seems to be so potent that I decided I ought to swap to the patches. The progesterone is going to be a bit of a comedown I'm guessing.
- what are the negative effects of the progesterone in the patches?
I guess if I hate it I can go back to the gel but put in a coil.
