Tibolone for low libido

Hi wondered if anyone has tried tibolone for low libido. I’ve had a fairly early menopause-started around 40 but not properly diagnosed until I was 43 and I’ve been on Femoston 2/10 for the last year. I’m 44 now.
I have had a low libido for a while and visited my GP around a month ago to discuss a referral to the local menopause clinic to perhaps discuss starting testosterone treatment with a gynaecologist at the clinic. Plus I would like to ensure I’m on the optimal HRT given I’ve had an early menopause. My GP duly referred me.
The GP wrote to me last week and enclosed a letter from the menopause clinic which said the waiting time for the clinic was a long time however I may like to try tibolone for low libido meantime. My GP said I could call her to discuss or just leave a message at reception if I wanted this prescribed.
Wondered if anyone have any success or otherwise with tibolone. I gather it’s an oestrogen which exerts its action by increasing free testosterone but it obviously has all the risks associated with oestrogens. I realise these risks are minimal if I take oestrogens up until the age of natural menopause but I wondered if the effects would be increased as I presume I take tibolone as well as Femoston. I can obviously discuss this with my GP but I’m not sure if she will know about this in great detail and I want to find out as much as I can on my own before I speak to her. Thanks for getting this far!

I diagnosed with early menopause a year ago at 41 and Tibolone was the first hrt I tried and it didn’t suit me. I am on Femoston 2/10 now and feel better on it. Tibolone is considered safer regarding breast cancer risks according my gyn but it is usually recommended for older post menopausal ladies.

Thanks. I wonder if the clinic meant for me to use tibolone in addition to Femoston as tibolone is an oestrogen only HRT. Not sure.
Thanks for the info anyway!

Tibolone is a synthetic hrt, it doesn’t contains only estrogen. Actually it mimics estrogen and it is usually used in special cases.

Ah ok thanks Emerald. I'm not sure what to do. I'll keep looking into it and discuss with my GP.
