Hot flush pyjamas

Peri seems to have started - am just coming up to 44. I am getting hot flushes which wake me 3-4 times a night. They aren't awful (yet?) but I am getting tired with so much disturbed sleep. Has anyone tried wicking PJ's? Do they work? If so, what brands work best?

Have you considered HRT?

I don't know much about it. Maybe I should talk to my doc? I am tired of feeling tired

Do make an appointment to discuss it, I can’t begin to imagine how rough you must be feeling with such disturbed sleep, HRT sorts out hot flushes in a few days.
Are you still having periods?

This stage lasted maybe 6 months for me. I switched to shorts and vest in bed ( or nothing at all). At one point we swapped the king size duvet for two single ones and I often slept with just the duvet cover or a sheet.

This summer when it was really hot I used to keep a muslin cloth in a dish of water by the bed and sponge my forehead/neck etc if I got too hot. One of those Evian sprays would have been good too. This wasn’t hot flush related, just a hot stuffy bedroom but I imagine it would have helped either the flushes.

Not bothered by them anymore but I still get much hotter in bed than I used to. Am still sleeping in short pjs all year round when I. Used to love warm flannel pjs in winter.

Thanks for the sympathy! I do feel pretty tired. Going to try cutting back on alcohol and coffee to see if that helps, if not will pop off to the doctor's. Am still getting periods but also bad cyclical migraines and flooding. Not much fun, is it?
