I had telephone appointment with doc regarding peri menopause, I'm 48 , lots of symptoms but no hot flushes
I've been prescribed the above despite having mirena coil, I questioned this was told it was still ok to take, also have high family history of stroke in 50's
I also understand it will give me periods. I really don't want this as haven't had them for years
Does this hrt sound right given my circa?
I'm not convinced doc was very well informed

The mirena is already giving you progestogen. All you need it estrogen patch or gel to avoid risk of blood clots with tablets.

With a Mirena you may well not have bleeds.

That's what I thought Queen but she insisted I needed the combined as the dose in the mirena was so low, I don't think she's right

Mirena plus estrogen is considered by many specialists as the gold standard HRT. As long as it's under 4 years old your Mirena gives enough progestogen. if it's older then you need it replaced.
