Anyone using Zoely?

It's a combined pill with which lots of women are reporting success with as HRT, I changed from Femoston 2/10 as I needed the contraceptive element.

3 weeks in and the hot flushes are back, and my mood has dipped, and I have a painful breakthrough period 8 days before the end of the pack, so I think I need some more oestrogen. I know I should give it 3 months but I already know it's not working for me.

So my question is, has anyone tried Zoely plus oestrogel? Would that even work? Or should I just go back to Femoston and ask DP if he can take charge of the contraceptive element?

Ty.

Breakthrough bleeds are usually caused by not enough progestogen (rather than not enough estrogen.) Bleeds start when progestogen levels fall ( both in normal fertile cycles and when using HRT.)

Adding more estrogen may help your flushes but not the bleeding.

Thanks for that, I'm guessing the bleeding might settle in time but really need to get rid of the flushes.

If you do a google search for Zoely which I've just done, the NICE review comes up. It states clearly that breakthrough bleeding is a known issue. Your GP ought to have told you this first.

To be fair to her, I asked specifically for Zoely and she agreed to it on a trial basis as she wasn't familiar with it (I gave her a link to an article in the BMJ about its use as HRT). I didn't read too much into the side effects, I admit.
