I have run out of patches and I am a burning ball of hatred

My pharmacy have cocked up my new prescription, so I have to wait until Tuesday. I am completely consumed with rage, and am despondent and depressed at the same time. Can't bear having my dd near me (for some reason) and am generally being awful.
Is there anywhere I can get an emergency patch? How would I do it? Any advice?

Risking you biting my head off (!) but I think it's a bit psychological! You shouldn't notice that much difference in a couple of days. It takes weeks/ months for blood serum levels to fall so much that you'd notice the difference. I've followed loads of thread where women have come off HRT and say how all is fine, no change, (for weeks) then at about 3 months in, they start getting symptoms back. HRT doesn't usually work like other drugs - ie miss them and you feel different so quickly. Noone is going to prescribe an emergency patch. Maybe try something like some calming herbal teas?

Bit leftfield but what about exercise for the next couple if days? Swimming, gym -positive endorphins?

I sympathise with the rage Wink

I feel a bit better today, but crikey I can scare myself sometimes. HRT be a poppet and cling onto my left buttock for a while?

Thanks for your support and suggestions ladies.

Best offer I have had today

I have to say I usually just keep mine on for a few days more and now, thanks to the chemists never having my patch in, just put masking tape over it to keep it on until the new patches arrive.

Better some tiny amount than none at all.

I will in future call and get them to get the patches in 48 hours before presenting prescriptions - that's what they advised last time.

I’ve come to the end of my progesterone patches and should now have an oestrogen one on. I actually made an appointment to see my doc who agreed I could have 6 months worth, sadly no-one told the chemist, and they don’t even have my normal one month of patches in stock. Sadly I am in such a state I can’t deal with it at all and feel like I have pmt from hell. I don’t understand why we can’t just get a years worth- it’s not like I’m going to get any younger!

I was told by my dr (private) that the max they can give is 6 months. I think that is the same for any drugs. There is also a licensing requirement for at least an annual review of HRT (and I have a review every 7-8 months.)
