Hi as anyone experienced itchy skin and a tingling sensation on hrt I've been on hrt now for a few years but last November my doctor upped my dose to 2/10 femoston and this year I been experiencing itchy skin and a tingling sensation only when I go in sun and have a hot bath its really getting me down I'm awaiting blood tests but my doctor does not want t change my hrt yet until blood results are done even though she stated it could me the stronger dose of hrt that I'm on causing it, it's just I'm off on holiday in 2 weeks and really need this break and the thought of itching constantly with the heat is going2 spoil it she told me 2 take antihistamines but they don't seem 2 be working was just wondering if anyone else have experienced this on hrt

Yep I have this. Only since I started on hrt
. It’s on my arms and always gets worse this time of year. I’ve tried every itch cream possible and the only thing I can do to get it under control is to put ice on the affected area and then take antihistamines on and off every few days. HTH

Sometimes things that crop up like this aren't connected to HRT at all. It's often a coincidence. Formication- a type of crawling, itching sensation, is a meno symptom so it could be that <a class="break-all" href="//.www.healthline.com/health/formication#symptoms" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.www.healthline.com/health/formication#symptoms

OR it could be your skin has become sensitive to heat and UV light as you've got older. You can't be sure it's related to HRT.

Hi all,
I started HRT around 18 months ago, Elleste Duet, 2mg daily. This dose worked wonders for the hot flashes, night sweats, broken sleep etc. In February of this year I had both ovaries and tubes removed, obviously now in full, surgically induced menopause.
Night sweats have recently returned along with constant itchy/ crawly sensations, not really on the surface of my skin, more of a feeling of being under the skin. No rash so almost positive it isn’t an infection, no dry skin, I keep hydrated and moisturise daily and have not changed any laundry, cosmetics or toiletries so it’s unlikely to be an allergic reaction.
Could this be a side effect of the menopause and should I consult my go to request increasing my hrt dose to combat the return of the night sweats?

I am on Femoston 2/10 too with no side effects...I don’t think that itching is related with. Maybe it is due to the sensitivity to sun and not because of hrt.

I am on HRT Femoston 2/10mg + 1/10mg and don't have itchy skin anymore. I experienced formication last year for apprx 2 months but it faded away eventually , there was nothing i could do except wait, i don't think hrt (and i am on a big dose) causes itching.
