Morning ! typical symptoms of the menopause as you'd agree. So you have a few options/changes to make maybe : have you considered HRT ? Have you read the NICE guidelines ? Have you informed yourself properly, reading the reputable articles about menopause and help with hrt ? If for any reason you cannot or won't consider or take it there a a few alternatives, herbal supplements (herbal supplements can be very potent and can have negative symptoms as well as good ones, depending of the individual etcc), are you fit, or overweight ? Do you drink alcohol late that could make you sweat at night ? Many factors need addressing to help with re-balance and it helps tremendously. For night sweats and hot flushes i used to take Maca powder which stopped the heat (worked after 10 days and no more sweats) but it doesn't work for everyone, magnesium helped muscle tension about 50%, i stopped sugar all together and i lost a stone quickly and felt fitter but my anxiety was horrendous (i was always happy, chilled before perimenopause) and i became angry, resentful, i hated everyone etc.. i decided on hrt, it worked after a couple of months, i stopped all the expensive supplements, i am back to my happy self with tons of energy, sex drive, no sweats, it just saved my life and my marriage. I hope this helps.

My menopause was some time back, but I dealt with it by eating phytoestrogens, plant-based oestrogen. I had a book called 'Eat to beat the menopause' by Linda Kearns I think. It helped me.

Hi I’m wondering if anyone has experience of HRT versus anti depressants? I’ve just been prescribed fluoxetine by my GP (a locum) to deal with peri menopausal symptoms such as low mood, night sweat etc and I’m not convinced having read a lot on both HRT and ADs that he has given me the right advice or what the best option for me is? Anyone had experience of either or tried both?
