Bladder symptoms and peri

My hormone levels are tested and fine apparently and since a recent polyps removal my periods are regular.
But I just can't seem to get rid of my endless bladder pain, urethra pain, sharp acid feeling so I drink tons of water then wee at least 4 times in the night.
My bladder, urethra and vagina all feel rubbish. I get about 1,maximum 2,good weeks in the month. Frequent trips to the loo. Sex is almost impossible, I often have a flare up afterwards...

Leading up to period is hell. I feel very inflamed.
Been under the care of two urologists who haven't a clue what's going on.

Last year had cystoscopy and urethral dilation. (it just shrank again) which revealed possible intersticial cystitis but I had an e coli infection at the time so could have been that.

I've adapted my diet, it's so restricted. I've used ovestin oestrogen religiously.

So exhausted and dont know what else to try other than assume it's perimenopause that's causing it all.

Does it sound familiar to anyone?

Thanks in advance

Not exactly familair but I went to the docs today because I am sick to death of my bloated tummy and that ache you get in your lower abdomen before a period. She has scared the shit out of me because one of the things that flags up in symptom checkers online is ovarian cancer ad now I am terrified I have it. Like you, I am weeing for the Waltons and feeling that dragging feeling in my tummy. I'm sure it is all OK but it is such a worry, mentally draining.

stirling You might find the 'IC diet' helps. Radically changes what you eat and drink. In a nutshell, no coffee, tea, alcohol, fizzy drinks, citrus and fruit juices, just plain water or weak herbal teas. Also o acidic fruits or tomatoes, spices like curry etc.

have you also tried using Ovestin more often? Like a 14 day daily 'loading' again, then 3 x a week? You can't stop or it all comes back.

My bladder just can’t tolerate tea anymore.

I think it’s the peri.

Hi everyone thanks for the replies. Didn't realise I had any.
Thespian Tendencies really sorry to hear you're feeling anxious, some doctors are so good at scaring the hell out of people. My gp told me I was raising red flags for throat cancer just because I'd had a lump that wouldn't go away for 2 months... She could have said "it's probably just a lymph node playing up but let's get it looked at" instead I went through hysteria... Hope its OK for you. If its any consolation I have severe bloating too and your symptoms and a recent pelvic scan didn't reveal ovary problems...
I didn't know that about that method with the oestrogen cream. I'll certainly give it a go! Desperate to try anything.

Can't bear these night time visits to the loo, 5 times last night!
