For over a year I have been getting the dreaded hot flushes, and my periods have been regular, but my period last month was 2 to 3 weeks late, heavy at times at lasted about 2 weeks, it then stopped for a week and then started again, a week later I’m still bleeding but it’s light and sometimes pink and sometimes brown, is this how things should be with peri?

I am 47 almost 48, had 2 children and not any contraception, dh had a vasectomy almost 18 years now.

I will add I suffer with anxiety & IBS, and worrying it could be something more sinister, google is NOT my friend.

Sounds like the beginning of peri with the typical symptoms of gut issues, anxiety irregular/heavy or very light periods. You are right, Google is a scary place, why don’t you make a doctor’s appointment and explain it all, menopause clinic would be ideal, Google could help with that Smile.

You're just having an irregular period, quite normal in peri stage.

Thanks ladies, I’m a terrible worrier which doesn’t help with my anxiety as it starts my IBS up, vicious circle.
