Hi there.
This is my first post [just joined)
I was 50 last month and my body seemed to take great delight in joining in on the celebrations by going into full blown menopause.
I've ignored the signs for a few weeks but my hot flashes are now so bad I need more fans than JLo at a gig.
My GP has put me on the lowest dose of Elleste Solo (hysterectomy after twins) but a few people have recommended the Ladycare magnet.
I'm a big sceptic at the best of times but I'm desperate.
Do they work? Can anyone give me any advice?
I'm sure it has already been covered but I've scrolled back quite a bit and didn't find it.
Thanks in advance. Xx

Is this what I just saw advertised? What is it supposed to do as that was far from clear!

jenthelibrarian · 06/08/2018 19:40

OK, so if you think about this how could a magnet possibly have any effect on menopausal symptoms?
If it was that simple wouldn't your doctor be recommending it?
I think this is, if not a scam, then definitely a rip-off. Many reviews say that you can't get a refund and that the company doesn't respond to contacts.

£35 Shock

It is a scam. Any effect is the placebo. There is no research showing it works and the RCOG does not recommend it in their list of alternative treatments.

FGS take the HRT! There are no/few risks with estrogen-only so it's a no brainer.

stillamum22 · 06/08/2018 23:11

Sorry HRT every time. I had books on managing the menopause the natural way until it happened. Chairing meetings etc when that heat rises from the solar plexus and all you want to do is take your clothes off and have a shower. When I retire I'll consider coming off it!!

There's magnets all over my house and I'm still perimenopause.

Last I checked, ovaries had no perimagnetic properties.

Save your money and put it towards the cost of your HRT prescription.
